Effective today, Tuesday Aug 25th ’26, Curts Ocular Surgery is no longer accepting requests for prescription renewals and/or records requests.
If a request for either prescription or medical reports or records was given by phone message, email or fax before this cut off date, please be patient as we work to full fill these requests. If it has been more than 2 weeks since you made a request and it has not been completed (and you have not been in contact with a staff member), please email us again to ensure you are still on our radar. Some attempts to send larger files have been unsuccessful, so we will modify and resend as needed. (office@curtsocular.ca)
If you have a prescription that needs reviewed or renewed, please speak to your optometrist office.
Details of where to request your medical records will be posted as soon as records are available with the storage company. We will post and update contact details on our webpage.
Office staffing has been and will continue to be minimal for the next month. Phones and emails will be monitored on occasion, and only requests that we are able to answer or help with will be responded to. Our office will not be responding to or acknowledging all messages that are received starting today.
Dr Curts, Dan, Maren and Morgan wish to extend our deepest apologies to our entire patient roster. We have formed strong and meaningful relationships with many of our regular patients over the years, and we truly value the years of friendship with you.
We wish each and every one of our patients the very best. Thank you for your ongoing support and kind words over the past month.

Records Requests
If you are making a request for records before Aug 25th, 2026, please be patient as we work through each request. This may extend past the Aug 25th cut off, but rest assured we got your request.
File sizes and resending of faxes have been very time consuming, but we are slowly working through each request as they come from offices and patients. Due to the volume of requests, sending of files will be the priority and you may not get an immediate response from us. We will do our best to update patients of completed requests, as soon as we are able.
If you are in need of a prescription refill, please ask your pharmacy to send a request to our office before Aug 25th. Requests for refills before this date will be processed. Do not leave a message to request a refill, please ask your pharmacy to send a refill request (fax: 226-664-9100).
Thank you.
Updated Phone Message
It is with regret to inform you that Dr. Curts’ medical practice will be closed effective August 25, 2026 due to relocation. If you have an upcoming appointment with us, please be advised that it is now canceled with our office. Unfortunately, no physician will be taking over the practice at this time.
Please listen carefully to this message and visit our website for answers to frequently asked questions. If you leave a message on our machine that is already answered on our website, you may not get a call back.
All active injection patients that have previously been to Dr Orrs office, will continue to do so. Their office will take over ongoing booking.
Phone messages will be monitored as often as possible, but please allow staff time to respond to requests, IF they are requests that we can assist with. Please do not leave a message asking us to call you. If you leave a voice message, let us know specifically what you need. You can also send an email to office@curtsocular.ca.
Rest assured that we absolutely know how understandably upsetting this situation is for so many of our patients. We are truly feeling this every day, and do not need phone messages to remind us. We have prided ourselves in being an office that connects to our patients and has also pushed to create a positive experience with us. There are many layers, politics and reasons for our closure and for Dr Curts leaving our local health care system.
Please connect with your current optometrist, or medical office that originally referred you to us, for assistance in finding a new physician if ongoing care is required. We will be unable to re refer or transfer all 3000 active patients.
Office Closure
It is with regret to inform you that Dr. Curts’ medical practice will be closed effective August 25th, 2026, due to relocation. It has been our expectation all along that we would be rescheduling canceled appointments, but after exhausting all options Dr Curts has made the decision to relocate out of province. If you have an upcoming appointment with us, please be advised that it is now canceled with our office.
Unfortunately, no physician will be taking over the practice. For repeated details, a voice message can be heard by calling our office at 226-664-9200. Phone messages will be monitored as often as possible and staff will be available to answer any questions you may have pertaining to your ocular health needs. Please allow staff time to respond to requests, if they are requests that we can assist with.
Any updates, additional information, and future location of medical record storage can be found here on our office website, as it becomes available. A list of Frequently Asked Questions will be posted here in the next few days.
We sincerely apologize for this outcome and will do our best to assist with any transitions. We value the multiple relationships we have formed over the years.
